I bought this unit to boost the phono signal from a 1974 Sansui turntable to a set of powers Yamaha speakers. The sound quality produced by a direct deck to speaker connection is superb but too quiet to be practical. I've been using this unit for about a month now. At first I was disappointed by the sound, it was thin and too bright. However, after a couple of weeks use - maybe as much as 70 hours - the sound warmed-up and now is very impressive and satisfying. The unit performs well across a wide variety of music genres, the detail in the sound is fantastic. I cannot hear much difference using the high and low filters but I have found the gain control extremely useful in optimising the signal to output level. Overall, this is a great value unit; well made with great performance for the money. All in all this is a very nifty piece of audio equipment. Glenn LondonRead full review

Excellent little Phono stage, all the praise you read online is true, this is a little gem, quality is obscured by the low price and the fact that is an American design product so UK dealers and press have not sought to promote it, (low profit margins also come to mind). Much better than the Project and Rega amps on the market and orders of magnitute above the Cambridge Audio I tried. This could sell £200 and still be a bargain, but punters in the audio market always confuse cost with quality.
