Not Quite as Advertised
I bought Sealfix to stop up a gap where the tap of my water butt didn't quite meet the edges of the hole, allowing water to seep out. The product clearly claimed that it could be applied directly to wet surfaces and that it would adhere to them. This seemed unlikely, but I thought I would try it. It turned out that it did NOT do what it claimed. It is an oil-based product, so (as I would have expected) it was repelled by water. It did form a solid material, once it had dried, but it was not sufficiently attached to the plastic of the water butt to prevent water from coming out. However, after I had emptied the water butt and allowed it to dry, i reapplied Sealfix and it DID work. So, like any mastic, it worked when applied to a dry surface. Fair enough, but it DOES CLAIM TO STICK TO A WET SURFACE - which is untrue.
