This is a fascinating book, full of facts and well written. The subject matter would seem quite gloomy but there are moments of whimsical comedy and efforts to lighten the otherwise sad facts. The book itself is a beauty of modern manufacture. Perhaps this author could be persuaded to inform us of other lost species such as the passenger pigeon.
