Detailed functionality, long range & stable signal.
Setup was easy from my phone. It works with a 12V 2a CCTV adapter. I ordered one separately. Using your phone to setup can be a bit confusing. Its easier to setup online using a computer. Just add BUSINESS NAME, LOCATION. Then when this is setup, under DEVICES add the serial number manually before you switch on and connect to the Internet. I don't recommend using the poe port to setup, use a power adapter with the 1 gig port. Then you can connect poe after you have setup. If you have successfully added the serial number online or on your phone, you will see WAITING TO CONNECT. Once to connect you can see your computer downloading firmware, rebooting and configuring. Finally connected in green. The setup is the only headache, but once setup it runs 🏃♂️ smoothly. I have three wax630 in a mesh. One root and this sends to two extenders in the bedroom. The signal is very stable and works seamless. It emails me whenever it goes offline and this is usually due to my router which I have on a switch to reboot the power every morning. I have tried many mesh products. Its as stable as my dec S4. But this has 2Ghz, 5Ghz high, 5Ghz low and with the new firmware also 6Ghz. Thats Quad piped. You can limit the rate, and choose a dedicated backhaul channel. Many statistics on usage and topology on the insight Web page. The phone app is also handy while you are mobile. You get one year free and then it's 9.99 a year per device for subscription to insight. Though you do not need to once setup, thats your choice. This is the most robust product I have ever purchased. Probably on par with the Orbi except its an AP not a router. Netgear, well done to you. All reviews say this is good. One minor point is that if you are mounting on the wall or on the ceiling, use stronger screws and grippier plastic wall plugs because this thing is huge and a bit heavy.
