Squirrel problem solved.
The product is very sturdy and easy to set.I had read the reviews and decided to use the Snicker bar bait along with bird seed which had attracted the squirrels. Very well made. However, as a squirrel trap I would go for the longer version, which I used to have, tails you understand. As a rat trap, which the packaging suggests it is not intended for, the action requires too much pressure, rats are not heavy enough to readily spring the trap, even after oiling all parts.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Squirrel enemy
Well made cage trap, strong construction, on the small side but operates efficiently. Unfortunately to date I have not had success with catching grey squirrels. I use bird peanuts in a small receptacle as bait, the nuts disappear almost daily, apparently small birds have found an easy meal without work of picking through wire mesh! Squirrel menace no more!
This trap works brilliantly! I tried it on the ground at first baited with peanuts. The next morning, the peanuts were gone but the trap hadn't been sprung! Culprit...wood mice! Then I lifted it off the ground and placed it near the bird feeder...the one the squirrels hadn't destroyed that is. I baited it with a piece of Snicker bar hung from the inside top of the cage via gardening wire, and the next morning I discovered a very irate captive squirrel doing it's best to escape! Two more captures later and I currently have a squirrel free garden. Hghly recommended...and don't forget the Snicker bar!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Removing squirrel once caught
Great tool. No advice on how to remove the captured squirrel . (bearing in-mind drowning & releasing elsewhere is illegal). I used a medium thickness hessian sack with an old coat hanger to wire the mouth in a square to slide over end of trap.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

End of The Road

Humane and simple to use
The first night we set the cage up we caught a rat that had been living around our garden a little while through the winter. We do have a fish pond and put out bird seed for wild birds ect, so this makes our garden attractive to rats.Humane Clean and easy to use.At the moment we have left it set in the summer house where seed is stored, so if any thing gets in it will be caught with out the worry of hurting animal or human if the trap is set off. Caught 4 squirrels in 7 days
Brilliant trap. Squirrels moved into our loft just above bedroom. So noisy disurbed my sleep. City council Pest control £120 first visit and subsequent £80 per visit to reset trap was no option, can't afford. Googled and settles on the Stv76 and bought one on ebay for £20. Climbed up the loft, set trap Sunday night. Found squirrel caught on Monday. Took him to the farthest park I could drive to. Set trap again on Tuesday, caught another one on Wed. Today is Sunday a week on, just came back from the park where I let loose the 4th squirrel. I think there's one more so I have set trap again. Managed to sleep well last night. Quieter. My bet? Roasted ground nuts wrapped a kitchen paper! Roasted it myself to enhance the aroma. I highly recommend this trap. Birmingham UK

Squirrel - First try and worked
Tried what someone else has mentioned in an earlier review. Used a small piece of Snickers and set the trap up in my loft where for the past two weeks we have been woken up by the sound of the squirrel running about. We had the local council pest control come out and put out bait. They just ate it and littered everywhere. Had enough. Ordered the trap. Set it up and the next morning we heard banging in the loft.
