Osmo Polyx-Oils are developed from natural oils and waxes to provide the most hardwearing and durable protection for wooden flooring and furniture. The emphasis on the wood's grain and natural characteristics provides a warm and rich effect to ensure that any interior looks luxurious and elegant.
This is a very expensive but it is marvellous! It took three coats and changed to look of the floor for average to brilliant.
If we had paid someone else to do the floor it would have cost significantly move than the £70 or so that the can cost.
Very easy to apply.
Strong smell at first but was gone after drying (a day), we shut the internal doors and kept the windows open.
It takes a long time to really harden 2 to 3 weeks although we were using the room within two days.
Now three months later still very happy with it and significant number of good comments from visitors.
Our stair fitters recommended Osmo.
I was surprised to find that a lot of other well-known varnishes and oils are listed as `not` suitable for floors/stairs.
The osmo range is extremely hard-wearing and is available in a no-slip version.
We didn`t want a glossy appearance and even steered away from satin in the end.
The semi-matt does have a slight sheen - just right for our modern home.
You have to pay for quality though - £73 approx. for 2.5 litres
Great finish but expensive. It looks good, not too shiny. I would say it’s worth it as the end result is nice. It takes quite a long time to dry and I found the smell gave been headaches so good ventilation is essential. Easy to apply, can be done with a roller very quickly.
