Charming ‘60s/‘70s art-movie Americana.
An art movie from the end of the nineteen sixties/early seventies by a director independent of Hollywood pressures to make a conventional blockbuster. Beautifully filmed, largely in the Californian desert, it followed two young adults who briefly meet and part, each following their own changing perceptions of the place society has allocated to them, and the consequences. Unknown actors, beautiful period soundtrack; the film has a charming innocence and perhaps a slight nativity of vision. Film of its time
The filming for its time is very good, of course on the arty side. It reflects on the student youth of the 1970's in the US and the struggle with the authority and self destruction.
