The Adafruit PCF8523 Breakout Board is a battery-powered real-time clock for Arduino, microcontrollers, and Raspberry Pi. Now also with practical STEMMA QT connectors. It allows the time to be provided even if the microcontroller has been powered down or reprogrammed - ideal for data logging applications, making your own clocks, timers or alarms. The PCF8523 chipset is ideal for use with Raspberry Pi and is natively supported by the kernel. The board can be operated at both 5V and 3.3V. The real-time clock can be used with the RTC library for Arduino, with CircuitPython and with the Raspberry Pi or similar single-board computers. Please note that you need a CR1220 button cell for operation, which is not included in the scope of delivery. The PCF8523 chip delivers a deviation of approx. 1-2.
