  • Rely on Redline

I have built several engines now, using Redline assembly lube. It stays where you apply it, I use a little brush for this. The bearings, cam lobes etc are all protected until the engine runs and the oil pressure flushes it away, to mix harmlessly with the oil. Several different types of assembly lube have been tried, but this is the one I prefer.

  • Red Line is a good brand.

In a tub so you've got more control on how much you use ..unlike a squirter where you get carried away. Not cheap but this tub will see me out!

  • Redline engine assembly lube.

Excellent product..stays on the surfaces really well and being coloured you can see if you missed a bit.👍

  • Redline assembly grease

We started using Redline about two years ago, after supplies of our usual assembly lube dried up. We tried several and settled on the Redline as it clings well to bearings and cam lobes etc. The engines we build are mainly flat four, American light aircraft engines and we have confidence that, until the first start up they are well protected.

  • lubrication performance.

As described, it is an assembly lube, due to its high quality a light coating is sufficient. Making it economically a very good purchase.

  • Right Stuff

Its not cheap but definitely the way to go for most bearing surfaces especially if you are assembling some time before starting. It will protect the surfaces and allow assembly and trial movement before the first pumped lube gets there.

  • Good product that provides good anti friction film on smooth bearing surfaces at startup of combustible engines.

    Good product.

  • Very effective product for protecting an engine in the early start up phase

It is very easy to apply and sticks well to bearing shells and liner walls so is ideal if an engine will be standing for a while.

  • The modern equivalent of Graphogen

The modern equivalent of Graphogen but a lot better, even stayed perfectly on a main bearing when a drive gear was fitted to the crankshaft at 275 degrees right next to it.

  • Top assembly lube

My friend in USA uses it and he is a top mechanic, that's good enough for me. I use it on all my engine rebuilding.
