Though I've made wine before, I'm a complete beginner at brewing beer. Watched a tutorial on Youtube and thought Coopers Lager would be a good straight forward kit for a first attempt. Basically all you have to do is dissolve the can of malt extract in hot water, add the right amount of sugar, top up the water to 23 litres, then cool to fermenting temperature and pitch the yeast. I found it very easy to follow the simple instructions and the whole process went very well from starting to bottling. The lager in the bottles cleared in a few days. I couldn't resist drinking a bottle. Flat as it was at this stage I think it tasted at least as good if not better than the lager from the supermarket. Very pleased with my first batch of home brew.
