Why carry a thermometer if it doesn't read accurate?
I bought a couple of these to take along camping and hiking to check temperatures. Well they are about useless because they are not accurate at all. A thermometer that doesn't display an accurate read is a complete waste. I checked them at different temps, hot, cold, room temp, etc against known good thermometers. These were off significantly at normal temps, I'm talking 10% off. When its 80°F and these read barely above 70°F it does me no good. My cell phone giving me a generic weather report for my area is more accurate. I bought these instead of cheaper options because of the aluminum housing and mistakenly thinking a higher priced option would be better quality.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Nice product but needs modifications
This little thermometer is handy for checking temperature on the slopes, but some minor modifications are in order. First, the hole for the ring clip is at the wrong end. It's upside-down if you need to read it when hanging on your jacket, so simply drill another hole at the other end. Also, the bulb thermometer is secured only with double-stick foam tape, so add a little Super Glue along the edge to prevent the glass from separating in wet weather. Don't remove the foam tape altogether bc you will want its white background to better read the red temperature in the little glass vial.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
