As a young man back in the sixties I used string and chalk block to mark outlines on the highway to cut along the asphalt with the air compressor hammer. I would then start by walking along the chalk line with the bladed hammer. Then proceed to break up the road surface before cutting into the hardcore. This tool is a lot handier than a ball of string and a chalk block!

Nice and compact. Press the centre of the winder to release the line. I mostly use mine when i'm plaster boarding so the fact it is only 9m long is fine with me. Plenty for me to cut off a couple of meters of raggarty end. I also bought black chalk to show up better on plaster board. Plenty of jumbo sized 100m ones out there but hard to find a small one.

Bought because didn't want to spend 20 odd pound on a new Stanley fatmax xl one which has now took the knock after 7 years of not so regular use maybe used it about 15 times a year but still f#*ked up on me!
