  • Probably as good as it gets

I am using this filter on a full spectrum converted camera, in order to revert to 'normal' spectral response. However, there is appreciable infrared leakage, so colour images need some post process treatment of RAW to get a realistic colour balance. (It's fine for monochrome work.) There is no intrinsic colour cast so it would function OK on a normal camera, but frankly I don't see the point of that. The camera's built-in IR blocking filter is going to be better than this. I have compared its effect to the B+W 486 filter and they are about the same, so as the title says, this is as good as it gets - just not quite good enough.

  • Full spectrum IR & UV adaption filter

Excellent quality but my full spectrum converted full frame camera needed additional Colour Balance adjustments which can change with the lens being used. It pays to run a set of images changing the Colour balance settings

  • Essential

Essential for those with converted full-spectrum cameras wanting to also take visible-light photographs on the same camera. Get one. Seriously. These are excellent. This is my second; one for each IR camera. Can't recommend them highly enough.
