i have love with traditional sickel, specially from greek mythology. we use for cutting grasses for cattles. Slaughtering some animals. Your sickle looks and is very fine. I mean I am not using for cutting any grasses or cattles but I'll keep it as a souvenir. Reminds me of civilised old and millennium back world.

I recently broke a sickle I have had for over 40 years. I purchased this item as it looked useable and was very cheap. When I came to use it, I found the handle small and moved because it was not fixed properly; making the item difficult to use. It is also extremely light so has very little cutting power through tall grass. Waste of money, as I will need to purchase a proper sickle.

Having some overgrown grass in the garden I thought I'd get a Sickle to trim the grass back to a height that I could then use my strimmer on prior to turning over the soil before laying some turf. The Sickle arrived promptly and I used it on some dry grass but it's little more than useless. The jagged blade annoyingly holds the grass within, so you have to clear the blade before making another swipe at the grass. I know it wasn't expensive, but regardless of that the item (in my opinion) is a total waste of money. I'll need to find something else that hasn't got the serated cutting edge so the grass falls away naturally. Disappointing purchase.

The item is described as a 16" sickle for grass or weed cutting. It is actually smaller than a standard sickle, and is made from soft, mild steel which is not satisfactory for this kind of implement. When I first used it, I wanted to clear some willow herb on my allotment. After a few cuts the blade became entangled among some of the stems, and in trying to free it I twisted it a little and the blade immediately bent beyond the yield point. I put the blade in my vice and tried to straighten it, but wasn't very successful. I haven't used it since as I don't trust it to do any of the jobs I'd normally do with a sickle.

the handle is very light and not easy to index without a bit of work with a rasp. the blade is thin and bent immediately, though not so much as to significantly impair the function. Good for light grass, and works better when the grass is in small handfuls. Damp grass tends to clog it quite easily. Not good for bushes. it is light and easy on the arm. It's neither as good as the best reviews suggest or as bad as the worst ones suggest. the reason I would not recommend is that I would not buy the same one again.
