Lightweight and poor coverage
I previously owned "Rubber Tite" Lloyd floor mats in my previous mustang. They were heavy, durable, and covered every inch of the floor. I recently replaced my old mustang with a new one and needed new mats. I would have transferred my old Lloyd Mats, still in great condition after 6 years, but I needed a different color to match the new interior. I decided to try out the rubber slush factory mats hoping to provide the same protection that the Lloyd mats did. As soon as I pulled them from the box, I noticed they weighed much less than the Lloyds mats. Less weight amounts to less quality since the heavier the mat, the more durable. Upon installing the mats, I found an even bigger problem: area coverage is lacking. The (front) mats cover about 70 percent of the floor area and leave the far front area of the carpet exposed. Fine if all your passengers are under 5'6" but with a long legged passenger or driver, shoes end up on the carpet and not the mat. This defeats the purpose. I will be replacing these "short" mats with "Rubber Tite" Lloyd mats in the updated color. I give the slush mats an A for styling, a D for functionality and a C for quality, based on the high price.
