    Good consistent quality

    I trust John James hand sewing needles, have for over 50 years. Although no longer made in Britain, the quality remains consistent no matter the type and size needle. I'm currently working an 8x9in 12ct-hpi needlepoint canvas with a size 18 tapestry needle and Perle cotton No3 and haven't had to change my needle mid-way as I have using other brands (burrs on the needle from passing through the canvas, eye becoming abrasive to threads). All in, very pleased, and glad to be able to use the drop-down menu to choose several different sizes - I was able to do a stock-up easily. I'll be buying these again as needed, highly recommend for the serious stitcher.

    Threading with tapestry wool

    Reasonably easy to thread with tapestry wool (size 20), but the eye is smaller than a previous supplier some years ago. So it might prove difficult for some to thread without a needle threader.
