Enteric Coated?
Bought these because the H&B equivalent has been out of stock for an extended period. Need them to be enteric coated, so that they release the peppermint oil where it's needed - and without that coating, the oil is released in the stomach and you end up with a very strong mint flavour in the throat and mouth - or worse a strong mint flavoured reflux which is very uncomfortable. Have tried these and had a strong burning mint sensation (and minty burps) less then an hour later, indicating that the enteric coating is essentially ineffective - this does not happen with the H&B capsules. Will be putting the rest of the pack in the bin I'm afraid.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Perfect for Bloating and IBS
I was looking for an alternative to Holland and Barrett's enteric coated peppermint oil, as they haven't had it for months. This is a perfect replacement and much cheaper. If you don't get the enteric coating the capsule dissolves too soon (in the stomach) and causes severe discomfort. This capsule dissolves where it should, to soothe the smooth muscle in the bowel as it's designed too. They help relieve my digestive problems. As different people have different problems you need try them to see if they will work for you. These are the cheapest enteric coated ones I've found, much better value than the branded ones available in high street chemists. Capsules that actually relieve symptoms of IBS
These are great for treating symptoms of IBS as they don't break down until reaching your intestine due to the Enteric coating.
