Simple to use and gives peace of mind over your battery condition.
This allows you to monitor your battery condition. Especially in the winter when the battery is under greater strain from cold starts. Not many cars have a built in voltmeter. It also shows the higher voltage (up to 14.4 volts when the alternator is charging). Great way to monitor your car battery and alternator
I recently bought a car with a 'smart' alternator, that varies its voltage output depending on demands made on the car's battery. This means on a long journey the alternator may reduce its normal output from around 14.4 volts down to around 12 volts, when a sensor assesses that the battery is fully charged. That's fine for normal running, but if towing a caravan, a nominal 12 volt output may not be enough to keep the caravan's fridge operating, or to charge the caravan's leisure battery. This inexpensive little voltmeter tells you at a glance what's happening in terms of car alternator output, and so to gauge whether the caravan circuits are being supported when the car engine is running.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
