Great product that's really useful when there are traffic problems
At first I wasn't sure whether to say 'yes' to this being good quality and value as I bought another second hand one to replace one that broke. However on reflection, the fact that the first one I got was also second hand which made it about half the price of a new one, also given that I used my previous one daily for 2 years and that it saved me on numerous occasions, I decided it is good value and quality. The device itself is easy to set up, link to your TomTom account and get updates, although the updates can be a little slow so for map updates I generally just leave it connected to the PC for a few hours. Maps are generally accurate but the best feature is the live traffic updates which has got me to the airport on time on a number of occasions when there has been a problem on the motorways. There are lots of options and settings to fiddle with and so it can take a while to get it looking and working the way you want it to. The voice control isn't brilliant, but it can save having to touch the Sat Nav whilst on the move. The battery in mine lasted around 2 hours which is enough for most journeys although I usually have it plugged in. Another good feature is the use of TomToms Mydrive website that allows you to plan and manage your journey and destinations from a PC and then send them to your device. When you next use your device it will announce that it has new destinations (and will also route you to the last one it receives). large screen and easy to follow
this replaced my TT Go 6000. I like the lifetime traffic and maps for the world. Got its own sim and internet connection, so no internet cost...depends on local connection. The screen guide is easy on the eye and keeps up to date with movement of car that cannot be said about using a smart phone (screen is small, loses GPS signal and gets hot). Screen functions and menu easy and reliable. Speed updates are useful to ensure not to get caught speeding...such as 34 mph in 30 mph speed limits...too easily done. Unit can pay for itself. Also, since new action of using smart phones whilst driving is a further consideration for using TT satnav. Bought it to use on upcoming holidays in Europe and USA where we will be using hire cars. The set up was easy if quirky and the update process straight forward. Routes can be pre-defined on a PC or tablet using a free app and transferred to the TomTom via its built in sim card which also provides traffic information.
