Leder Gris is great
Bought a tin of this after buying a second hand pair of Alt-berg defender boots. It is the recommended product for these boots and i can see why. Very waxy and tacky, my boots leather was a little stiff as they were secondhand but after an application of lerder gris they turn really supple. Great leather conditioning and also the most important bit is the water repellency! Water just beads off. LEDER GRIS water repellent wax oil
Bought this for my Altberg boots. very easy to apply,i have built up several layers over a period of time and so far my feet have not been wet. Leather has softened up nicely and any cracking to the leather is minimal (more of a crease) The colour of the leather has not changed that much either. If you require a gloss finish then look at one of Leder Gris's other products, as my boots are for field use i require more of a waterproof boot than a shiney parade finish .Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Possibly the best leather boot treatment available
I recently reviewed Haix Shoe Cream after buying some for gore-tex lined leather boots. It cost more than twice as much as the leder gris, and - after only a few weeks of use - I can confirm is pretty much useless. On the other hand, I have used the leder gris for many years, on all sorts of boots, including goretex lined ones, and have never had a problem with breathability. It soaks in well, it confers a DWR-like coating for several days of rough treatment, and covers stains and marks well. Forget polishes and creams - use leder gris.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Revives and cleans old Army boots.
Easy to use when applied with a brush. Leave for 15 mins and then brush polish. Good on my old Altberg Trainer boots. Not so good on Kerrimore boots ( which are newer and more water proof then Altbergs). If you use ordinary brown shoe polish these boots slowly turn red. The brown Leder Gris restores the original brown colour. Good quality and good value if you buy the bigger 80grm tins.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Let's start with the delivery; My polish was delivered very quickly (1-2 days ). The polish is of excellent quality and does what it says on the tin. Value for money is great! Maybe Better than Nikwax
I bought this as it was recommended by AltBerg. Must admit I thought it was a ploy by AltBerg to make more money. Having used it I would say it is as good as Nikwax whilst also maintaining the original colour of the boots. Well worth the money. Leader gris
