Really nicely engineered vice, the lever operation is great, it grips hook sizes from tiny up 5/0 with no problem. the rotation control is also really effective. I was using a cheaper offset type vice before this, but I find the Kaiman vice much easier to use with no issues as the hook is set well forward of the vice body. Comes with a spring loop and allen keys. for adjustment. Base has a good weight to it also, whole thing has a very solid feeling, really pleased with it. I tie mostly predator flies, saltwater streamers and small baitfish 5/0 down to trout size blobs and streamers.

This is a great vice! Compared to my cheap old Indian made vice, the quality of the Stonfo Kaiman is amazing. Admittedly it costs more but I can see this lasting me a lifetime. Like many other folk I was unsure if the plastic-coated pedestal base would be stable enough but I have had no problems with it - it has quite some weight to it and I now actually prefer this style of pedestal base compared to a c-clamp. The jaws are solid and strong yet small enough to handle tiny fly hooks, the lever is nice and quick for swapping hooks, and the rotation is smooth and adds a whole new level of convenience to my fly tying. Absolutely recommended!
