Probably the best glue of its type...

The cons first - it takes overnight to dry. Other than that this is the best adhesive of this type I have ever used by a huge margin. I also use it for repairs to inflatables aswell. In my experience it sticks just about anything to anything. It also remains quite flexible after drying.

  • Most critical review

    Good, but not wildly convenient.

I can't say whether this stuff worked or not, as I haven't yet tried the tent in really wet conditions. It is reasonably easy to apply, but you must be very careful not to let surfaces touch together until after the sealer has cured (a full 24 hrs), otherwise they stick and you have to tear them apart. It remains visible as a shiny streak when cured, but that didn't spoil the aesthetics of the tent for me. Clean up of the brush supplied with the tube is pretty much impossible, but any brush will do when I use the rest of the tube. It is quite expensive for the amount you get, and I can't help thinking the excessive packaging and brush must account for a lot of that. I have used the McNett seam sealant for silicone-coated fabrics for years and am completely satisfied with that. But I have also recently used their tent floor sealant (TentSure), which was not a good experience.

  • Good but expensive

After searching the web for something to restick the tapes on my bike waterproof this was the most recommended. I bought a large tube but needed another tube to finish the job. Reasonably easy to use but getting it off my hands took two days.

  • excellent adhesive

i used the mcnett seamgrip sealer to glue down seams on my goretex jacket its the first time ive used this product and it does a fantastic job. it comes with a screw on small application brush wich was difficult to use to get under partly detached seams so i mad a smalll spreader wich did the job spot on. id say the brush would be ideal in more easy to access areas.it has a strong smell and needs good ventilation when used i repaired my jacket at about 7pm and left it over night and was dry and the result was as good as new. just take your time using it as its very sticky stuff highly recommended excellent product.

  • Easy to use.

good value, arrived quickly, easy to apply and, so far does exactly as it says it does. Happy at the moment. Lets see how durable and long lasting the repair will be.

  • Easy application

Simple to use and apply. Make sure you let it dry before packing tent away or else fabric will stick together. I used some talcum powder to help prevent sticking. Does the job! I applied on all seams for a 2 person tent, and there was just about enough. Applicator was no good on the tube, I applied the liquid to seam then used the applicator to spread.

  • Does what it says on the tin

Although relatively expensive product did not disappoint in making a high quality waterproof repair to my Berghaus over trousers. Important to follow guidelines on use and storage (must be kept in freezer to extend life). Also found seam grip very versatile in its application.

  • Good outdoor glue for material

Works well as glue and seam sealer for materials used outside (canvas etc)

  • Great stuff for tent seams

Great stuff; it works and lasts. In my experience this is the most effective and durable of tent-seam sealants. I would recommend that anyone doing serious backpacking in foul weather should routinely treat their tent with this prior to use. Works very effectively. Tip: clean seams with spirit before you apply this.

  • Grip seam sealer

Sealer works on the coat but the tape would not stick. I have had to leave the tape off, still waterproof see how long it lasts so far so good.
