Compact but effective .
Initially I thought it very small ( 28 mm dia. ) . After securely using the suction feature to fix it to a smooth surface , which incidentally can be at any angle, the sharpener went on to fully sharpen 10 knives in 10 minutes . The sharpness produced was excellent for general kitchen use , but if I had given more attention to each knife , an extra-sharp & keener edge would have resulted . The sharpener was so effective that a word of warning should be given , in that very light pressure on drawing the knife back between the sharpening blades will produce better i.e. sharper cutting edges . Too much downward pressure will result in large amounts of good metal being scraped off , and a nasty grinding noise . The latter procedure could be useful in producing a cutting edge from an absolute blunt tool such as a pointing trowel or chopping axe head ( should such an action be necessary ) . In conclusion , a very effective ; quick ; low-cost kitchen aid .Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great little sharpner

Best little kitchen gadget ever!
Had loads of sharpeners before, all been OK but this one wipes the competition out. I was mocked by a couple of my Chefs till they saw the results who wanted to give it a try. They too have bought them, one lad purchased 3! One for work, one at home & a spare. This little sharpener has even made our electric knife sharpener redundant. Works well, but a basic knife sharpener

Small but great sharpener.
When item arrived was surprised how small it was, following enclosed directions it certainly gives a great cutting edge to knives which I was going to chuck out.
