Basic pattern, true to size...
I am very tall, so I did have to make adjustments to lengthen as I do with every pattern, but this pattern was very easy and straightforward. I don't have a lot of sewing skills yet, and I was able to wash my material, iron, cut out the pattern, and zip it together in a day, including the invisible hem. It looks great and fits very nicely! This is now my 'go to' pattern as I have now made it twice...one solid, one patterned. I've seen a couple of people make this from a firm ponte knit by simply cutting the pattern a couple of cm's smaller and taking the armholes up a bit to make up for the stretch. I might try that...when I get a little braver...because it really is a nice fitting shift dress and when I find something I like that looks good and is easy to sew...I like to do it in multiples!
