Butterflies. Great in window boxes and hanging baskets
The wings of the butterfly gradually break off where they enter the black body. What I have done before using, is to put some "PLASTIC ELASTIC" flexible adhesive between wings and black body, top and bottom to add extra strenght. Excellent Solar Unit Ruined by Poor Quality Butterfly
I will start by saying that I bought this item because I had had a similar item for several years that had given good service. This could so easily be an excellent product if it were not for a bad material choice as far as the actual butterfly is concerned. The little solar unit is excellent and whirrs away very happily but you purchase this item for the butterfly feature and its effect. Within days of installation and a few sunny days the coloured plastic butterfly wings began to split, obviously by the fatigue affect of the fluttering, and eventually fell apart. It eventually becomes wingless. This is not an isolated case as out of six that I purchased there is not a complete butterfly amongst them! For the sake of a few pence and the use of a more suitable material for the wings it could be a nice little novelty product.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Cheap but RUBBISH
I'm sorry to say this but buying a cheaper version isn't always the best way to go, I received the product admittly very quickly and put them together and placed them in my garden and after a few days one by one I found the butterfly had broken off and was on the grass with the wire still attached to it and no possible way of re-attaching to the spinner part ?! Solar powered butterflies
Not obvious prior to purchase that the solar power is not stored, so only works when the suns rays are captured directly by the solar panel i.e. when the sunlight is not obscured by cloud or the sun is in another part of the sky. Rubbish
The wire to the butterfly is too thin. The first one broke within a day. One of them arrived with plastic broken and they quickly sent a replacement for that one. But then every one of them has snapped its wire now. I mend them and it breaks again. I've put them in the garage now to see if at some future point I come across so slightly thicker wire to get them working again. Spend your money elsewhere.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Wonderful
Lovely fluttering butterflies. The best I've had. These butterflies are never going to be very robust because they would then be simply too heavy to flutter. I say enjoy them while they last and then buy some more, they are not expensive. Keeping them in a more sheltered spot, out of the wind also helps.
