I've had the cable for 10 months and didn't use it for a couple of months, so the actual time it's been used is probably around 5-6 months. The plastic near both jacks (connecting to the headphones and audio source, respectively), broke recently so the internal cables are visible (see photo- I tried to slow down the decay with some tape but it didn't work). That means they're probably going to break soon, as all tension along the cable now rests on these three little cables. My main reason for buying this cable was that it's about a quarter of the price for the original BOSE one, but if that means I have to replace the cable every 6 months it might not be worth it, economically or effort-wise.
