The AMD FX-9370 processor seats in an AM3+ socket to provide hard-to-match multitasking and power from the first native 8-core desktop CPU. Sporting an AMD Turbo Core technology that acts to increase performance for applications that need it, this unit can handle multiple intensive applications with ease, boosting the clock speed from its base 4.4 GHz to its turbo clock of 4.7 GHz. This makes it one of the better CPUs available to meet intensive gaming requirements, demanding 3D modeling programs, and HD video editing and rendering. The FX series processors are all unlocked for easy overclocking through AMD OverDrive technology. FMA4 and XOP instruction sets improve calculation throughput on integer and floating point vector functions, which are important functions in both video game calculations and image rendering. The AES is a simple improvement, but it has a significant impact on encryption and decryption performance.Marking an impressive step forward in terms of raw power and streamlined computing, the AMD FX-9370 leverages a Smart Cache system that improves core scheduling and pre-fetch, allowing you to make the most of all eight cores. The Intel QPI system, HyperTransport technology replaces the antiquated FSB, providing a 16-bit link at 5.6GT/s. Generation 3.0 HyperTransport compatible hardware can achieve up to 16GB/s, 8.0 GB/s without overclocking, and as much as 37 GB/s from the CPU to the system. Very Good CPU
Works well in gaming and in win apps, however like all FX CPU's does not work well for video or audio rendering. I have a liquid cooler on the CPU but it strains so hard in video rendering that I have to throttle it myself from 4.8 Ghz to 4.4 Ghz or it pulls too much power and overheats. In gaming however I can way overclock it and it just ticks away, no problem. I have it paired with an EVGA Nvidia 970 GTX. Easy to install, is not overheating; do not need special liquid refrigeration, sometimes you find some guru’s criticizing this CPU as something tricky from the manufacturer to earn money.
