I've had a very similar light before, until a thief kindly relieved me of it. Perhaps I really do mean kindly, as this apparently identical replacement turned out to be an improvement on a light already so good that I was in the habit of showing it off to friends. This is a BRIGHT light. I mean it will light up houses at the other end of our short street. Don't try looking into it. And I do strongly recommend cyclist-users riding on ordinary roads (the type with other vehicles on, as opposed to remote country tracks!) to buy a fresnel lens (such as the one called "DIFFUSER LENS LARGE - 39MM" sold by C&B Seen, though be warned that I had to file it down for several minutes as it was c.2% too big) so as to make the circular beam into a rectangle that is possible to angle. The brightest mode is so bright that I don't use it: 2nd-brightest is fine. The improvements on the previous one I bought: (1) the cable clicks into the battery cable, solving a huge kept-falling-out problem the other one had; (2) the "I'm on" LED light at the back is intermittent, draining far less power when it's hooked up to the battery but not actually on; (3) there was a large back light included, complete with laser lane lights (very dim though); (4) the whole packaging and instructions (previously there weren't any!) are good, thoughtful, clear and comprehensive. Go buy this and get seen! But buy a lens and don't blind car drivers!Read full review

The Cree front bicycle lamp is very bright and looks really nice. It comes with no instructions but there are plenty of videos online to help if you get stuck. The leads from the lamp to the battery are very long and I ended up wrapping them around the bike frame. The downside is that the battery discharges extremely quickly. I only use the bike occasionally and I have discovered that the battery discharges itself even when the lamp is not in use. I therefore have to charge it every time I take my bike out. I do tend to take my bike out at regular times and so can accommodate this but it is a bit of a pain.

I bought this and was more than happy with it but after several weeks it no longer works. Has it been overcharged and therefore no longer works??? I used it one night, put it on charge but its never worked since. the charger light comes on to suggest it is charging but after only around 15 hours of useage I'm left somewhat disappointed. Thank you Mick Sykes

Certainly bright but only 4* because the light is too focused for me. I use it on unlit lanes and on full power its a bit embarrassing when cars approach, so use on low power most of the time which is adequate. At these prices its worth buying another with several LED's in the hope of a wider spread of light.

Bright light at an awesome price. Still haven't worked out how long the light endures for before having to charge up, but guess it's a matter of time. Certainly a great beam. I'm looking forward to the dark rides home now.
