Works to get rid of japanese beetles
Purchased a small carton last year (didn't look at amount closely for size of lawn) and this year had a very substantially less year number of them. To provide other information, I also used nematodes last year but the weather was so dry unsure how useful (nematodes apparently need moist soil), and nematodes don't survive the cold winter. Regardless, this year had WAY less of the japanese beetles so decided to spread a larger amount of the milky spore and then should be done for a while (milky spore survives cold and live in Maine). It worked for me last year, and found out about it because worked really well for a friend who had a japanese beetle problem prior to using milky spore. Yes, I would recommend. Be aware it says not to use a spreader (such as might use for lime or fertilizer), but instead a spoon or specially made spore spreader.
