Marginally Acceptable
This unit operates relatively quietly and the auto empty condensate appears to work well even in Florida humidity. It doesn't perform as well as the 52 year old 12,000 BTU Welbilt window unit it was to replace for energy efficiency and heat pump purposes. I'm sure it probably meets the stated performance in a laboratory environment but in a realistic environment it's probably about 9,000 BTU including hose, cabinet and cross hose heat gain at the outlet. It also doesn't extract as much water from the air as the old Welbilt even with nearly identical 27 degree delta and outlet temperature the Welbilt discharges 45F at 67% and the Hair 45F at 86% operated in the same space so it does leave the room feeling damp. I decided not to use it for the intended purpose but didn't want to go thorough the expensive process to return it so I will to keep it in storage for emergency use in the event of a long term power outage or central system failure. It will start and run off a 4 kw generator and would cool a bedroom nicely. Once winter season arrives I may pull it out and see if it works better as a heat source than it does as a cooling source. It probably performs as well as any of the portable units but even with the dual hose setup they don't perform as well as a window, central or mini-split of the same rated capacity.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

The heat output fans always get brittle and break after a year.
Ive owned at least 5-6 of these units, i get them because of the double hose feature, every single one ive owned the plastic fan that blows the heat out of the unit and outside falls apart.. and it takes about a year for this to happen, you would think they would put a metal fan in them by now.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Refurbished

Excellent portable AC
This units is relatively quiet and cools the room fast. The window kit is easy to install and a better design in my opinion.
