Very Flexible Filter Wrench
After having removed many filters by hammering a screwdriver through the filter and then spinning them off with what quickly turns in to a slippery lever I decided it was time to buy a wrench. I found a very good quality and beautifully cast and machined chain type filter wrench in a budget farm store but decided not to buy when the price came up at £65! So I wondered if £6 delivered might involve some 'funny metal' which would make the tool useless in the real world but no. This is a functional tool rather than precision machined but I put my half inch ratchet drive on the removable adaptor, offered it up to a 98mm filter and was pleasantly surprised when it loosened it off with light effort. This tool requires no appreciable access around the filter sides and so long as you have access end-on and some room for a ratchet it should be useful on almost any filter within the size range. The claws are geared so that they tighten on to the filter cartridge when you start turning. Clever design, not precision engineered but appears well enough made to last well and a seriously good bargain at the price.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Top bit of kit
Had 4 cars to service yesterday, removed all four different type filters with ease so I'd say this bit of kit has paid for itself. Only nag is that the 1/2 adaptor that came with the tool is easy to fall off the tool itself but that's something I can live with. Great tool for the money
This tool has saved me a few times from near disaster! I found that it grips very well onto metal type oil canisters without completely destroying the filter in the process. The switchable 3/8 and 1/2 is handy also for the oil filters that have been overtightened. 1 month on still holding strong and no sign of wear after constant use.
