Excellent recipe and manual is good guide to easy cooked quality meals
Firstly we purchased this product after reading an advertisement for the Bosch at several times the price of this item. This Redmond is very well built with a quality non-stick 5 litre container (some reviews have wrongly mentioned only a 3 litre capacity). It is outstanding value especially if you are able to obtain a promotional discount. Slow cooking is even controlled than that for our dedicated slow cooker that only gives high or low and lacks a timing control. Exact choice of temperature and cooking times are a considerable advantage. Rice will drop through the wide holes on the steaming basket provided with this product and so we carefully recycled and modified the specialised rice basket of a broken down electric steamer! It was not needed! Redmond will cook your rice on the "grain" menu that offers the option of creative additions to enable you to serve something nearing a risotto. This would be a wonderful product to have in a bed/sit and it could make an oven redundant except for cooking large joints for family use! A slight reservation is that even after leaving the lid open there seems to be a few drops of water left in the pressure relief valve that will drip into the bowl when you close the lid for storage. With such a quality unit we will be very disappointed if the electrics fail after just a few years and the multicooker becomes beyond economic repair. Great multi cooker
This impressive cooker can perform a lot of different types of cooking from steaming, to slow cooking, to making soup, to baking, to frying, along with many other cooking programs. It’s supplied with accessories to support the different cooking modes. Also included is a recipe book with some handy recipes. The display features all the information you’ll need from cooking program to temperature and cooking time. As well as all of the automatic programs there’s also multi-cook which allows more control of all the cooking parameters. When running it’s quiet and the display shows the program running and the time counter lets you know how long the program has got to run. If there are a couple of downsides it’s that firstly, there’s not so much control in the automatic programs. However , I guess the multi-cook program should be used if you want a heat setting feature (though you’ve got to know the temperature in degrees you want to use for slow cooking). The other minor drawback is that the lid isn’t transparent so you can’t visually check on the progress of the food. Overall though this is a great kitchen appliance that allows different styles of cooking and means you can often prepare food without say having to switch on a large oven for instance, which will help save energy. Convenient and fairly easy to use means you’ll enjoy using this cooker to prepare food.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
