Already owned a Cambridge Audio 851W amp purchased from their factory store on ebay and loved the quality. So when I discovered this MM preamp for the second turntable in my system, it was an easy decision. Sounds great, no noise, and bonus, absent signal for a long period of time, it shuts itself off. Great Sound, No Hum, and 39 dB gain
The soundstage on my receiver only generated a 36 dB gain, which wasn't sufficient for the 2.5 mV cartridge I was using at the time. The Solo not only plays louder, but significantly clearer too. Great Sounding Preamp at a Great Price
The Cambridge Solo is a very clean and natural sounding, low noise phono preamplifier. Though it was "refurbished" by Cambridge, it looked brand new, with all original packaging and paperwork.
