Good price and works fine in many but not all applications.

I fitted this lock system and had hoped that it would fit the metal door and that the bolts would go behind the concrete door pillars on a rented council garage. I tried packing the locks back but found out the key and fixings bolts weren't quite long enough for that. I had to drill the concrete pillars for the bolts to fit into. Despite having a good battery powered hammer drill and special never break drill bits it wasn't easy. Damaged most of the drill bits used. If you think you need to space your locks back or fit into concrete, save yourself some aggravation and buy a longer key version. I wish I had done that. Apart from that they were fine.

    Better products must be available

It was a replacement for same product I bought a few years ago, and had become impossible to open. Within a week of use the new ones are already showing signs of difficulty , which appears to be the lack of correlation between lock and key. Most disappointing because I had bought the replacement only because they would fit without having to change the fixing arrangements.

  • Good quality and value for money.

These door bolts are very good. They are good quality, easy to fit and the sliding bolt is long enough to defeat most attempts to force or bend the door at that point. However - I did encounter two points worth noting. The first is that the keys (3 supplied) have cross-shaped ends which only fit into the cross-shaped locks in one orientation. That means there are three ways that a key can't be inserted into the lock and I initially thought the locks or keys were defective. If a key can't be inserted into a lock - DON'T force it! Instead, turn it through 90 degrees and try again - and then again twice more if need be. This presumably prevents the lock being forced by a screwdriver or similar object. Secondly, the coach bolts to fix the lock unit to the inside of the door have a square on the reverse of their heads. If the lock unit is fitted upside down (as I did at first!) the square prevents the lock butting against the inside surface of the door. Close inspection shows the square on the bolt fits into a corresponding square in the mountings of the lock unit and everything is snug when the lock unit is correctly fitted.

  • Strong and Good Quality.

I wanted extra security for my campervan stable door. So I fitted 4, 2 top door 2 bottom door. Really secure. A little fiddle as, being circular in profile, there is no way of know which way the keys going in the locks. Think about a Yale - the way in is obvious, not with cylindrical keys. So I always have to take out the key and put in again in another direction. Good locks, and thick strong bolts.

  • Door locks

Got these at a very good price. A very solid lock and easy to install. The lock and key is a bit fiddly at first, cos there's 4 ways the key could be inserted but only one will actually go in. There's a dimple on the key, which should be vertical when the key is inserted in the lock. That way you get it right first time.

  • Very good locks

I found a very useful video on you tube on how to fit these door locks so it was straight forward, I fitted mine to a upvc garage door and added some 40mm square washers to the outside of the installation, because I have access to the inside of the doors I didn’t drill holes for the key holes from the outside As I can lock the doors from the inside and the doors are very secure now

  • Great idea

This product is solid, not cheap but you get a couple of heavy duty bolts with keyed bolt keys and well worth the money to secure your garage. What I would say is do what I did and put aluminium plate behind the garage door skin and stick it with liquid metal. Because the bolts are only as good as the material they are fitted to and the door skin is thin aluminium and the coach bolts could be ripped through it with a certain amount of force. Also it stops flexing. Having done that I feel that the bolts now provide great security One downside is that the keys do not always operate smoothly. Sometimes they take a bit of getting in completely and turning can meet a little resistance - not smooth. I have pushed grease into the lock holes and it helps, but I guess if you took them apart and put more grease might be better. I don't know how unpickable the locks are and how easy to get new keys, or how many key combinations there are. Also I guess the bolts could be cut through with a hacksaw blade between the door and frame, but they are much better than the standard door lock that can be easily overcome!

  • Asec garage door locks

I used these bolts to bolster security on the wicket door of a roller door. Previously this wicket door was only secured with an ordinary yale lock but with these bolts at top and bottom of the small door everything seems much more secure. I have had these bolts in place now for about one month and therefore cannot vouch for them on durability however from what I have seen so far I have no reason to doubt them.

  • Garage Door bolt locks

Ideal for a garage door with only one lock top bolt/ pin. Converts the door to a three lock door and much more secure. Put them in at a foot off the floor and you don't have to strain your back in bending down to unlock. The round keeps, the shoot bolt goes into, you will have to be very precise in drilling into a wood frame otherwise the shoot bolt will jamb, may be best to replace them with a made up striking plate. Also you need a pop rivet to fix the escutcheons although you can get away with self tappers. The key is rather long and pointed so recommend do not throw the plastic end protector away and don't forget to put the key the right way up, into the lock.
