The axles work but Redcat is junk and the CV axles will still break!
The installation was a little bit difficult due to the instructions but it is not so difficult that I couldn't figure it out. I did the upgrade for durability because the CV axles would break during use, this happened a total of 4 times before I did the upgrade and then twice after the upgrade so I junked the Redcat and went with the Traxxas TRx4 sport. My friends axial scx10 II and my Traxxas has been unstoppable compared to the Redcat plus it was cheaper to just buy the Traxxas that comes with the portal axles. Do yourself a favor and don't buy Redcat junk.

Ok if you can get it to perform how you want
Not exactly a bolt up and go unit at least in my case. Ended up ordering the Gen 8 links to help with pinion angles, and an aftermarket skid/tranny plate. Also have to drill axle pinions becuase the grub screw isn’t lined up all the way. Wished I would’ve just bought the Scout to begin with.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Not really designed for gen7
Does not work well mounted to gen 7 chassis. Panhard bar hits chassis so front right wheel travel is extremely limited. Works great on gen8 chassis which is what i ended up doing. This kit is nice but not really designed for gen7 even though they claim it is.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
