Synology DS1015+ NAS - Easy, Fast, and Efficient Storage!
After reviewing many articles and initially purchasing a four bay Synology NAS, within a week, I knew I wanted/needed more storage options. I found everything I needed with the Synology DS1019+. A five drive bay unit with 8GB Ram out of the gate (I Unofficially upgraded to 16GB). Easy installation of drives, as well as software to setup and get your NAS device up and running within 30 minutes! I got tired of creating virtual drives and having to mount them every time the PC restarted. I needed a better way to store loads of files from various external drives and allow easy access from a single point. With NAS technology having advanced over the years, you can't go wrong with the Synology DS1019+. Plex app allows me to stream directly to any device locally and when I'm away from my home network. Need to access your files remotely? Synology's Quick Connect allows you to do just that! Your files are safe and secure. If you're still attached to a few USB storage devices after installation of your NAS unit, there are two USB port on the DS1019+. One in front and another in the rear. It also has a connection for an expansion unit. It may be more than you want to spend, but if you look far enough ahead, it will be well worth it. Great NAS for Plex Media Server
This NAS drive is great. Hands down excellent for setting up a PLEX media server. I had all of my movies on several drives hooked up to a Mac for my server. Just one thing: When transferring movies, make sure both are hooked up the your network by hard wires. Not wifi on your computer. I tried to transfer items via wifi and ran into a ton of problems. Corrupted files due to slow transfer speeds. Once I did a hard reset and transferred via ethernet, everything went smoothly. Great Synology NAS
Replaced my Synology DS712+ with this DS1019+ and improvement in speed was dramatic to say the least. Plenty of storage and super reliable. Moving my HDD from the DS712+ to the DS1019+ took less than 10 mins.

Totally worth the upgrade
I had been waiting to purchase a Synology 918+ and then the 1019+ came along and I had to have one. After running a 413J for 4 years, this things is blazing-fast.
