Great sound decoder, fantastic value for money
This is my first step into sound decoders so after reading and viewing many reviews on the subject I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of this product. Relatively simple to install and set up I am more than happy with the sound and tones it produces. Well done Hornby, this is such good value for money.

The best way to add sound to locos with the 8-pin socket.
I have been converting my HSTs to sound. On older locos I've fitted 8-pin sockets. I cheat a bit and usually fit just one sound decoder in the dummy power car of two HST. I've got the Valenta sound version too. An excellent way to add sound to a layout controlled by Hornby e-link/RailMaster or Select. Never had a problem with them. they work straight from the package.
