Not having played much of the series since Fusion, I can't speak to how the games in this collection compare to their original releases... But after playing a decent amount of 2048 and a bit of HD I can say the games certainly hit the anti-grav spot, for me. The ships are beautiful, the thrust sounds are varied and thrilling, the graphics are very nice. The soundtrack doesn't quite live up to XL, 3, or Pure, for me, but isn't distracting. My main issue thus far is the learning curve. As a veteran of the series, the early levels in the two games I've tried were very easy (on Skilled, for HD). Then, to my chagrin, the 2nd or 3rd tier has a steep jump in difficulty, which leaves me feeling like my vehicle is perpetually underpowered (regardless of which one I fly). I find time trials to be especially frustrating, as some can't even be passed without a perfect 3 laps (2048, in particular). So, if you're a perfectionist trying to have a full board of Elite Passes and Elite Golds, you'll have to, if you'll excuse the phrase, 'git gud'. As for me, I think I'll have to settle for whatever I can pass and not stress about the rest. A bit dissapointing for someone who unlocked the hidden prototype tracks and golded every track with every car on every difficulty on Wipeout 3.Read full review

The product itself works as a game, but the gameplay...naaaahh ? In comparison to the first Wipeout, this one is confusing at best and way too much 'stuff' going on...too many details and colors 'blending in' which makes it way too dufficult to distinguish the one from the other (especially the tracks vs 'bakground'...

The test of hardware technology has always been the standard for wipeout! 4K in its greatness beauty, with minor tweaks in an "old" games. I hope this is just a. warm up for a upcoming fresh wipeout. For convinience (i own all wipeout titles) and for historic perspective it could include (at least) the original trilogy. I'm waiting for more!

This is my first wipeout so I'm new to this, I'm really enjoying it, I was a fan of f-zero gx on the gamecube, in a lot of ways it has the same feel to it apart from the fact that there's weapons in wipeout, it works really well firing missiles whilst driving at high speeds, there's a good learning curve and once you get to know the circuits it becomes almost second nature, I recommend this to newcomers to the franchise, plus it's a nice game to show off to friends, and at a reasonable price it's definitely worth getting..

Crackin game...or more correctly games. Both the Vita 2048 version and the PS3 version with the fury add on are on the disc. Tons of tracks, great tunes as well. Highly recommend it.
