Good quality and easy to fit.
based on the price of an original seat I would have expected this one to fall short in quality, but I was pleasantly surprised. The unit was easy to fit with good instructions and fittings for both top and bottom fixing. Decent fit, bit of a funny-looking thing though...
Bought this whilst trying to avoid getting, in my opinion, ripped off to the tune of the best part of £100 for a replacement round seat made by Ideal Standard for their space-saving corner toilet... This one fitted OK, and reasonably quickly, with only a couple of minutes of fiddling around with the fittings to get it aligned properly. The mechanism is all enclosed, so less vulnerable to corrosion on the hinges, which is what did for our original after 10 years. Replacement hinge pack was something like a colossal £35, so it made sense to give this alternative a shot at £55 quid for the whole caboodle. Which is still a heck of a lot for a plastic toilet seat, mind - but there's limited options out there so it is very much a sellers' market. It's a slower-closer, which is nice if you go for that sort of thing. The only thing I could knock it for is how it looks. The lid itself is crazy deep - around a couple of inches. Don't really see why it needs to be. Looks a bit like a hamburger when it is shut, with the seat being the meat in the middle. Does it matter? Not so much as saving £50 to me I guess, but it isn't as dainty a looking thing as the original for any of you who that might bother. If the original's a Yorkshire terrier, this one's a Staffy...Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great alternative to the genuine article
I was dubious about buying this rather than the real thing but it was unfounded. The Ideal Standard version is really not great, I have two Space toilets in my house and have had to replace the seats on both numerous times because the hinges have corroded! Very good seat, but overpriced.
The lid is a whole lot cheaper than an original replacement, but still a lot of money for a toilet seat. Unfortunately, I had no choice, as the toilet is a very small one, and I couldn't find any other seats that would fit. The quality seems very good, and has the advantage of being soft close as opposed to the original, which was not soft close, and not of the same quality as this one.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Quality soft-close replacement seat
The quality of this product is brilliant and well worth the money. I was sceptical at first but having assembled it ( which was easy btw) I can see it will last . This is a direct replacement for ideal standard compact toilet with the addition of a soft close hinge . Adjusted at full depth on an ideal spacesaver WC, there was some leverage across the fixing pads when the seat is closed/opened. Fitted strengthening washer (see photo) to overcome this before fitting stainless caps supplied with seat.

Sturdy and a perfect fit
Really pleased to find a good alternative to the original Ideal Standard seat, of which we have had two since 2004, and have had to repair both of those with epoxy etc before the hinges finally snapped.Shame on them for not improving the design. The hardest part was removing the original fittings which had rusted together, but the new seat went on easily and, in our case, didn't require any of the cutting down of the bolts as others have described. As advised elsewhere, put the hinge fittings on finger tight, add the seat, adjust the position then remove the seat and tighten up. It is easier to hold the nut below in place with a spanner and tighten from the top with a screwdriver. Finally put the fixing covers and the seat back on. The soft close and removable seat mechanism is a bonus and as it is a perfect fit I don't mind the chunkier look.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
