Natures Aid L-Lysine 1000 mg is a high potency, essential amino acid which provides a full 1000 mg of L-Lysine per daily tablet. Produced from L-lysine hydrochloride in a free-form state. Although 50 amino acids have been identified, only 20 of them are used by the human body. Of these 20, nine are classified as essential amino acids. This means that the body cannot naturally manufacture them, so we must get them from diet by eating protein rich foods. Lysine is one of these essential amino acids, meaning it must obtained via the diet or by supplementation.

Lysine good tablet but so big
I've used Llysine for years. I feel they help me in my fight against cold sores. The only problem is that all these tablets are so big. It doesn't matter which brand you buy they are more suitable for a horse than a human. Why can't manufacturers make them smaller? I use a pill cutter to halve them but that creates rough edges which are still difficult to swallow.
