A very good potting grit. Mix it through your compost in planters for the drainage, nice size no large lumps of grit very easy to handle very as its very clean. A great size bag goes a long way as you don't really need to use a lot in with the compost. Good but too heavy to lift.
It's good grit - nothing wrong with it - except it was wet through and therefore extremely heavy. The delivery man left it outside the front door, which would have been ok if the grit had been dry. I'd have been able to drag it through the house, to the patio. As it was, I couldn't move it an inch. I had to cut it open there and then, and collect it in potfuls. Luckily some of my potted plants at the front needed grit. The rest I had to carry bit by bit through the house, until the bag had lost most of its weight and I was able to carry it. The weight is the only reason I would not recommend it, as I think you'd need to be exceptionally strong to carry it.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Consistently good....
I tried several potting grits before this one, some more like sand, some a mixture of fine and coarse. I find Westlands the perfect 'pea' size for adding to compost to improve drainage, or adding a layer at the bottom of large patio pots so they don't sit in water during the winter months.
