well-designed, attractive fryer.
great, well designed. attractive on a worktop, chip fryer. one shortcoming though - being placed forward on a worktop when frying, the handle sticks out and is easily knocked or caught when traversing up and downs ones worktop. Poor quality and not up to the job
I bought this fryer because it looked almost identical to the one it replaced. However, there were a few features this one did not have. It had one less warning light to show power was on. The lid was so poor I think it would have broken very quickly. The last one could be easily removed for cleaning. This one had very poor fiddly clips. The actual frying pan had a gap between it and the stainless steel outer casing, which would inevitably allow water and oil to get inside the electrics inside. There was no clip which fastened the lid, whereas the old one had a small lever which fastened the lid securely. The worst point was the temperature. It took ages to fry the chips which eventually came out soggy and not crisp. I have the equipment to measure the temperature of the oil. On its first fry setting it was about 15 degrees lower than the setting showed. The highest setting was the same, and obviously this was the reason it was not up to the job. All in all, poor quality and not up to the job, and I am still waiting for my refund!!!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Inadequate fryer
I left positive feedback for this item before having a chance to test it's effectiveness longterm. I used it once after which, it didn't turn back on and heat up. After the first use, it seemed to over heat after cooking the food and didn't return back to a normal temperature within the expected time frame. I had to leave it by an open window whilst it smoked continuously. I truly hope this is not a dangerous batch of items and perhaps I got a faulty one, but even for the price I paid, which was mid range, getting only one use out of it is not what I would consider good value for money. My advice would be to pay more for a branded fryer with a warranty from a trusted source.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Telfel deep-fat Frier

Simple to use/clean, compact but big enough for two.

Love it, just needs a little work to clean it.
Great item, would be even better if you could remove the 'Oil Pan" to clean, but really all you have to is pour the oil into a container, then balance the body of the fryer over a bowl to drain the rest, then clean as usual.
