Product Description Nytol is a sleep aid medication and its active ingredient is Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride. It is a clinically proven night-time sleep aid medication that induces drowsiness quickly and ensures that your sleep is undisturbed. Nytol comes in two varieties: Nytol Original and Nytol One-A-Night. They contain the same active ingredient and the only difference that the two medications have is the number of tablets that you need to drink. Directions For Use Both Nytol variants come in tablet form and should be taken orally. This means that you need to take them with water for ease of intake. As they act quite quickly, it is recommended to drink them 20 minutes before bedtime. They take effect quite fast so taking them ahead of time might make you sleepy too .

Sometimes when you can’t get off to sleep these can help. Not every time. I only take half and find this helps most of the time. They have got more expensive like everything else, but as you may not need these every day they can last you a good while. Get the stronger ones and break in half, they last twice as long. Top tip.

It works for me but Nytol is only intended as a short term treatment.
The chemical version of Nytol worked for me when the herbal version didn't. But the active ingredient becomes less effective and the potential for side effects increases with prolonged use so it is only a short term treatment. The advice is to see a doctor if the problem returns after the 20 pills have been used. But my doctor isn't helpful which is why I tried Nytol. The same active ingredient is used in some allergy treatments which can be considerably cheaper. In that respect I think Nytol is expensive.

A good product for relief from bad sleep patterns
I don't sleep well and after a particularly bad night I'll take a Nytol the next night to ensure I sleep through. I've used these for some years and it's good to know I can rely on them. My one problem is that they don't keep me asleep as long as I'd like but it's a relief to sleep better than usual so not really a complaint.

Gets me to sleep for a short time but consequences are not worth it
I recently suffered an extreme bout of insomnia for a period of a few weeks and so bought these among other sleeping tablets to try. I did sleep intermitently for a few hours but was still awake more than sleep and did not feel rested. The following morning after taking them i felt terrible both times, really groggy, brain like mud and i wouldnt have felt safe to drive. Not a practical solution for me
