    Fitted the bill

No override off, or battery/spring backup for the clock, common power supply terminal for load and clock, 300mm of air space needed around the timer seems excessive. Nor does it fit a standard socket box and the timings are not very precise. However it has worked fine so far, the 15 min switching intervals are useful, it’s easy to set (use a small screwdriver to push the riders in or out) and at such a modest price it still gives excellent value for money.

You get what you pay for...

These timers seem quite well built for the price, and are easy to use and install, but they don't last very long. They are rated at 16A which you would think would be enough to cope with the electrical load of a 3KW immersion heater. But I have had two of them fail aftter a year to a year and a half of use, what seems to happen is that the contacts fail because the switch cannot cope with the electrical load. So all in all, not recommended. It may be cheap but unless you want repeated failures like I have experienced you really would be better off buying something else.

  • Fiddly to operate

I anted this timer for our central heating boiler. The override switch is far too fiddly. We have become accustomed to our old Sangamo timer with a big three position switch on the side, Timed, Off, On. It was easy to flick to 'on' when we needed a shot of heat. With this timer you need a fine tool, or finger nails like a screwdriver, to flick the time controls. This is ok because you only need to adjust time controls infrequently, however the override switch is equally as fiddly and is a real faff. I can live with it, but only just.

  • Timer Switch With Many features

Easy to install and very good time and power saving device. I am using it to switch on and off outsoor light even if I am not home. It has multi-time setting feature as well.

This is a good quality timer which is easy to set. The perspex cover protects the mechanism from knocks. The fitting instructions are clear however the feature of real excellence is the clock hands in the centre which make it easy to check it is set to the correct time. The only advisory point I would make is that the barriers between the electrical screw connections seem a bit flimsy. The device is made in China which is not made clear in the advert.

  • A good value timer

A nice cheap timer ideal for immersion heaters etc. It is though a non standard fitting so you have to make your surface mounting plate. I also find that the timer mechanism only seems to last for about three to four years. You will wake up to no hot water one morning. It will still work on manual. As it is quite cheap all I do is order another which fits into the existing back plate and away you go for several more years.

  • Best timer you can buy

What value for money and so well made. I'm using this as a clock to turn on a small heater in the bedroom to save switching on the whole central heating system. It;s silent and I have no complaints.

  • Good, simple time switch

The second one of these I've bought, the first is lasting well. Simple device but works fine. Only drawback is the box is slightly smaller than a standard one, so using this to replace an existing switch may leave a gap to fill.

  • So good I bought two

It’s easy to make the mistake of using the wrong Timer, the hi Wattage burns them out (damages the Relay) this unit copes with this easily and is advertised as being for Immersion heater purposes. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

  • easy to fit

medium price hence reasonable value seems to work well so it should last a while switching only out side lighting whilst fitted indoors away from the weather neat and tidy unit.
