Reservedly Good........
I was very impressed with the first trial at home.....amp upstairs and instruments downstairs; everything worked as advertised.....However on the third use on unplugging the receiver it split around the central joint and would not compress back together. I suspect the battery had expanded. I returned the receiver unit which was duly replaced. Subsequently played at a gig where the bass player was also using Xvive, despite using different channels he was getting interference, but our amps were adjacent each other and he reckoned that was the problem. We believe the output signal is probably a bit excessive. That said it is definitely a great piece of kit for solo work, and any interference issue may be overcome by positioning equipment. The units are neat and well designed and do away with the hassle of being attached to your amp/PA by an ungainly lead. The USB dual charging system is also brilliant. No more cables
As an amateur guitar player in a 5 piece band, most of the gigs we play are in pubs with small areas for the band. Having loads of cables lying around on the floor the inevitable happens and someone trips over. Not with these suckers!! Easy to set up, easy to use. I use as a solo singer - just wanted the freedom of a lead and this works perfectly I can walk around without any loss of sound quality or volume so works well for me! There are reports on the internet that these won't work with an active pick-up. However they work absolutely fine on my acoustic guitar with a Fishman Prefix Pro Blend which is powered by a battery? It's early days yet, but so far so good. The transmitter and receiver are small, neat and simple to use. I'm used to playing on stage now, without the imcumberance of a lead connecting my guitar to my amp. I've previously used the Line 6 G30 but found the constant replacement of AA batteries - also the fragility of the transmitter (belt clip breaking off and the flimsy battery door) to be a real pain. Of late, I've also found an unreliability with the signal from the transmitter to the receiver, which has forced my hand to get a more reliable option. The rechargable Xvive is going to save me a fortune in the long run, and I'm sure the build quality is going to far outlast the G30. The online reviews, as well as Midge Ure rating it highly, definitely tipped the balance for me, so in the end the choice of the U2 was a no brainer......Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
