Works very well, runs quiet, self-priming, far exceeded my expectation
Powerful enough for my 40x20 inground pool with DE filter. It is a lot quieter than the Hayward super pump and STA-RITE pump I had. This 1.5HP pump is also able to vacuum up debride from the pool bottom through a 1.5" vacuum hose, but the self-priming time is kind of long. So I were to do it again, I would go with the 2.5HP package for more vacuum power. Update: I found out that there was a significant air leak on the intake side coupler, causing a weak vacuum power. Fixing the air leak, the vacuum power improved enough that the 1,5HP pump would do just fine, no need for the 2.5HP one, which is of 110V, no good for me anyway (I got a 230V AC supply).

Underground pool pump replacement
I tried to order a replacement pump exactly like The one I have. It was hard to find one on eBay exactly like I had . But I ordered one close to what I had. First it didn’t come with the connection fittings I’m still looking for the proper fittings. When you buy Hayward pump at a retail store you get the fittings with it . I’m still looking for the right fittings. At this point I’m dealing with air bubbles because I can’t find the proper fittings. If I had to do a pool pump again I would buy one from a pool supply store and have them install it . It’s worth the money not to have the headache,s .Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great quiet pump for DIY installation
Purchased the 1.5hp Hayward super pump to replace a bad older pump. The pump came very well packaged and delivered without any damage given it’s weight. This was a DIY install and went easy, instructions are well written. It selfs primes but you have to ensure there is water in the basket before turning it on. Very Happy So Far
So far it is unbelievably. I bought tow other brands and didn’t work. This is little bit longer than originally it cost more than $1300 I bought at Home Depot Ball Joints for $16 and I cut the source pipe going to filter and I moved elbows as I desired. Also you need regular wall plugs to plug it as it comes with 110v plug also it has button for 220v. It is 40% less noise than original I had on before. Excellent value, exactly as described.
Great price, well packed, exactly as described. Easy install, though I direct wired it, using the same spade connectors as the equipment it replaced. The grommet/strain relief needed some custom work to deal with the flexible conduit. The dual 2" male and 1.5" female ports are very convenient. Looks solid, runs fine, no louder than expected. The Hayward pump it replaced lasted 30 years and i do not expect that from this equipment, but all seems great now. Note, my installation is covered. but the instructions say outdoor use is ok. Of course electricity and water don't mix. Instructions say to use teflon tape, but i have switched entirely to PTFE thread sealant, and that is working fine. Impressive pump

Great deal the quietest pump , I can't tell if it is running and have to go make sure it is still running , I strongly recommend this pump cannot beat this price anywhere really the best deal for the money . Awesome Value!
This unit replaced a Hayward 1.5hp unit perfectly. I had installed the Hayward in 2018 and it cost $350. Now in Dec. 2021, the cost had risen to over $950, so it was worth a gamble to try this $150 unit. I am very pleased so far. It runs quieter than the Hayward and pumps just fine. I have about a 6 foot lift and 50 feet from suction inlet to pump. At this price, I can replace once a year if necessary! This is the bargain of the century.
