Out of the box I loved the look and feel of this parlour guitar. Initially sounds a bit dull but you don't know how old the strings are so decided to change them. At the same time I swopped the cheap plastic nut and saddle for bone and replaced the bridge pins for Ebony. Fitted D'Addario EJ40 Silk & Steel Normal (.011-.047) strings. Cost £27 for all bits so £147 for the finished guitar. Didn't have to touch the truss rod. Electronics works fine and the built in tuner is accurate better than a clip on. Over the years I had two or three goes at finding a budget priced 1930's styled folk/blues guitar and failed miserably. This guitar is brilliant it looks great and sounds great (after the mods) if it had been delivered like this I'd have give it 10 stars, its a keeper.
