These two books together cover the first couple of years that recovering addict James & his streetwise cat Bob spend together & give an honest insight into the struggles of homeless people & animals on the streets of this country & indeed around the world. The story swings the reader's emotions from the depth of sadness at the plight of the anonymous existence of the homeless to the light-hearted moments when Bob lifts the spirits with his antics & James's progress gives a little hope for the future. It's so touching to read about James and his soulmate cat, Bob. I was already aware of them and have two of the books in the series. Bought this one as well as I wanted a further keepsake of Bob - James has recently lost him and he is heartbroken (as any animal lover will know...).
