On The Fence
Five things to dislike: 1 - CTRL+Q does no close apps 2 - No ESC key 3 - Heavy, really heavy 4 - The damn cursor is always present on screen, even in tablet mode (keyboard folded back) 5 - No settings in required app - Guess it acts as a driver. Haven’t found any settings either but also haven’t looked. Things to like: 1 - Protects entire iPad EXCEPT where the pencil attaches. 2 - Keys have good depth 3 - Backlit 4 - Overall, great functionality 5 - Materials look/feel nice (cheap though) If you’re just looking for a keyboard to type with on the iPad get a Bluetooth keyboard (someone has to make them). If you’re looking for a full-time keyboard then buy a used MacBook (12-inches). If you need a permanent keyboard, sketching/drawing capabilities, then buy a Surface and save some weight. If it’s gotta be Apple then this it; price-wise and attachment. If all you can put money on is the iPad Air/Pro and a keyboard: THIS IS the way. Make sure you get the Apple Pencil too (secondhand works, save a few bucks). For me, I’d rather type on a Mac, scribble notes on my iPad (classes, research) and listen to podcasts on the iPhone.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

You won't go wrong with this capable and, in many ways, superior alternative to Apple’s keyboards
After using both the Folio Touch and Apple Magic Keyboard on an iPad Air 4 (2020) I was able to compare them side by side, and here’s what I found: Far more affordable than the Apple It has FUNCTION KEYS! (the Apple does not) It has full EDGE PROTECTION! (the Apple does not) Key motion and track pad response seem to be identical to Apple’s Keypad supports the same gestures as Apple’s It has the same Smart connectors on the back (no bluetooth charging required) Kickstand allows more versatility and infinite viewing angles The keyboard is foldable to flat position for reading (Apple’s is not) Lighter weight Apple Pencil is securely held in place during transport (no so on the Magic) A few negatives: It’s unknown whether the outer skin material will potentially wear or crack at hinge lines over the years, but seems very durable when new. Great product, minor flaws
