Very good piece of equipment and would highly recommend it
I was looking for a shredder that had the capability to manage fairly substantial branches and to deal with them with ease. I read as many customer reviews on the equipment as available and the overall consensus was very positive so I bought one. Not disappointed in any way with it. There is a degree of pre-use assembly as you would expect but this took no more than 30 minutes to assemble the engine to the frame and wheels, once added the engine oil and petrol it was ready to use and started on the 1st pull of the cord. The engine is quite quiet as engines go and the most noise is when it is shredding. It has a pre-formed entry plate which prevents you from introducing branches which are too thick for the machine to chip which is a good control measure. I have found the thicker the branch, the more efficient it is at chipping it and you can feel the cutting drum pull it in to the machine to process it and very quickly. The out let will distribute the chippings up to appx 12-15 ft from the machine in the high outlet position so ideal for mulching straight onto plant beds in a fine distribution of spray. The fuel economy is quite good, I had appx. 4 working hours from half a tank of fuel and it worked through an enormous amount of tree branch cuttings in that time. It is light and manoeuvrable to move around the garden and yet very substantially constructed with thick plate steel. Appears to be a very robust piece of kit, however you need to spend considerable time preparing/dressing the material before feeding it into the chipper, becuase the slots which you must feed material through are quite narrow, thus limiting. Mighty Little Chipper
If you can get any wood past the guard it will go through this chipper. After assembly it started on the first pull, and even if you run it out of petrol it still starts first time. It likes to have the choke on starting but only for the briefest of periods, moving the lever back to run immediately. It chips very efficiently but does prefer straight branches, no laterals as this stops the branches getting past the guard. When it does jam, it is a bit of a pain to unscrew the inlet chute which has a safety switch on it. It is very forgiving if you do something wrong (like letting the outlet get blocked) but overall a superb bit of kit. It works extremely well . It starts easily and has more than enough power to undertake normal garden shredding tasks. i find the opening where the branches are fed in to be too restricted. Works better than electric version
No problems at all with the chipper, more powerful than the mains versions, only drawback is I had to remove the steel guard on the feed side as you need to put thin branches in, which is nigh on impossible to with the side shoots jamming.
